Tianfei Liu , Ph.D, associate research fellow, is engaged in the research of livestock and poultry genetics and breeding, and focused on developing new methods and algorithms for animal genome genetic breeding evaluation, in which he has proposed a high-throughput sequencing data screening PMS method and a genome dominance effect estimation IAD method, largely improving the accuracy of genomic prediction on yellow-feathered broilers.
Dr. Liu has presided over and participated in over 20 national or provincial projects, including the China Scholarship Council Project, Key Projects of Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, General Projects of Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, Key Projects of Rural Science and Technology of Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and R&D Program Projects of Key Fields of Guangdong Province. As a visiting scholar, he went to Aarhus University (Denmark) to implement collaborative studies in 2012 and 2021, respectively. In recent years, he has published 17 papers (14 SCI ones) and been authorized 3 national invention patents.
