Achievements
- • Established the nutrient requirements and precision feeding strategies for commercial pigs in China, and participated in the formulation of the industry standard "Pig Feeding Standard" (2004), the group standard " Compound Feeds for Piglet and Growing-finishing Pigs " (2018), and the national standard "Nutrient requirements of swine" (2020).
- • Clarified the underlying mechanism of weaning stress in piglets, developed nutritional strategies and feed-additive products to alleviate intestinal injury upon weaning, and further created a formula system for antibiotic-free feeds.
- • Revealed the molecular mechanism of oxidative stress in growing-finishing pigs and its impact on pork quality, raising novel nutritional strategies to prevent possible damage of oxidative stress to the pigs and to improve pork quality, and created a technologic system for antibiotic-free pork producing.
- • Created nutritional technologic system for hyperprolific sows. By using functional feedstuff including conditionally essential amino acids and isoflavone, the performance of gestating and lactating sows were effectively improved.
